If your partner has access to your email, or there is even a small chance that your partner has (can find or figure out) your password, then you may want to create a new email account solely for communication with me. Also, if your partner has access to your credit card statements, bank statements, etc. you may want to use a pre-paid credit card for my service.
Originally, clients would come for in-person meetings at my office. Over time, more and more clients wanted to have virtual meetings via Zoom, FaceTime, etc. Even though meetings were no longer in-person, there was still social pressure to look a certain way, act a certain way, and talk a certain way. In addition, after the thirty minute or hour meeting was over, the client would inevitably think of additional questions, concerns, or details that they had forgotten to mention.
One of the advantages of the present method is that you can take your time writing out your question, concerns, and the details of your situation. There is no time pressure, no worries about how you look or sound, and no need to travel. Also, in my experience, it is frequently easier to write or type something personal than it is to say it out loud.
